Local Homebuilder Bob Goodall Sells Company, Stays On as President

Middle Tennessee's Largest Homebuilder to Continue Operations Under New Ownership

Retirement Not on the Horizon for Goodall, Who Will Remain Active in Company's Leadership

Bob Goodall, the owner and president of Goodall Homes, has sold his company to Clayton Homes, a subsidiary of billionaire investor Warren Buffett. The sale was announced this week, and Goodall will continue to lead the company as president.

Goodall Homes is one of the largest homebuilders in Middle Tennessee, and the sale marks a significant change in the local housing market. However, Goodall said that he is confident that the company will continue to be successful under Clayton's ownership.

"I'm excited about this new chapter for Goodall Homes," Goodall said. "Clayton is a great company with a strong commitment to quality and customer service. I'm confident that they will help us continue to grow and succeed."

Clayton Homes is a leading manufacturer and retailer of manufactured and modular homes. The company is based in Maryville, Tennessee, and has operations in 49 states and Canada.

Goodall said that he decided to sell his company to Clayton after receiving several other offers over the years. He said that Clayton's commitment to quality and customer service was a key factor in his decision.

"I'm not going to retire," Goodall said. "I'm going to stay on as president and continue to work with the team to build great homes for our customers."
